How To Root Motorola Moto G

Warning : Rooting without following proper steps and precedure may result in a bricked phone.

There are three simple steps in rooting a Moto G

1. Unlock Bootloader
2. Flash custom recover
3. Flash Super SU

Procedure:

Unlocking the bootloader

Download ADB tools and unzip them to a folder

Turn off your phone and put it in the fastboot mode by holding down the volume down and power button simultaneously . wait for some time and release the buttons.

Connect the phone via usb cable to your pc and navigate to the folder where you have unzipped the ADB files.

Holding down the shift keys and right clicking on a blank space on the screen will let u select command prompt .

 Enter the following command in the command prompt

"fastboot oem get_unlocked_data" and then press enter key

You may get a string similar to the one shown below

"fastboot oem get_unlock_data

copy the character sequence and select the five highlighted lines and paste it into the input window on the motorola website.

Don't copy the word"bootloader" when you are doing this.

Next,click on "can my device be unlocked?" and put a tick in the "i agree"dialogue box and request for an email key.

copy the code from the email and get back to the previous command prompt window.

now enter the following command

"fastboot oem unlock (your code from the email)"

You are ready to go !!, you got your Moto G unlocked

Now about rooting the Moto G.

Download the superboot.zip from the Modaco forum to your pc and unzip it in any location you prefer.

Now put your Moto G in bootloader mode bby pressing the power and volume down keys and then connect it to your pc.

Navigate to the root folder and execute the file superboot-windows.bat with a double click.

Your phone will be rebooted and And yes, it'd Rooted !!
